delegate resources

July 31, 2015

On November 21st, delegates, alternate delegates, region chairs and members of the Corporation Team, and members of the Board of Directors and staff, will join together to deliver an inspirational and educational day. Delegates are able to better understand their important role, interact about key issues impacting our council during Region Time, learn more about our board and governance topics, and come together as one council.

Over the next several months, service units will elect girls and adults to serve as delegates and alternate delegates to represent them.  The GSGCF Leadership Training for girls on November 7 (register via activity finder) has been redesigned and will be a fun and interactive experience. Delegate resources have been refreshed and updated: position description and expectations, self-assessment, and Delegate Orientation and Training Manual.

Remember we are all one council: Girl Scouts, volunteers, members, board, and staff. I encourage each of you to work with your service unit leadership team to set a regular delegate time on the agenda to listen and report at each service unit meeting. Support members of the service unit to become active as a delegate, participate in our democratic process and advocate for girls. Our democratic process ensures that all members have a voice.

We also look forward to seeing all delegates and alternate delegates at the Annual Meeting of the Council on January 23, 2016 at the Gulfcoast Event and Conference Center to conduct the business of the council and celebrate volunteers. Be sure to share that all members of Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida, Inc., community members and guests are welcome to attend.

Yours in Girl Scouting,
Sue Stewart, CEO
