fall product sale

The 2013 Fall Product Sale begins on September 20, 2013.  Girls must be registered Girl Scout members and have parent permission before participating in the Fall Product Sale.

What is the Fall Product Sale?

The Fall Product Sale is a friends-and-family sale that helps your troop earn start-up money, but also helps support the Girl Scout Council.  Proceeds from the Fall Product Sale help the council:

  • Recruit and train adult volunteers to lead girls.
  • Provide financial assistance to make sure Girl Scouting is available to all girls.
  • Maintain council properties and camps.

Learning Life Skills

Through the Fall Product Sale, Girl Scouts have fun and earn money for their troops while developing five essential life skills:

  • Goal Setting
  • Decision Making
  • Money Management
  • People Skills
  • Business Ethics

During the Fall Product Sale, girls are members of a team working toward a common goal with each girl striving to do her best.  Every local troop/group is encouraged to set a realistic goal for the Fall Product Sale.  Goals may include “fun and learning” goals (like a field trip or troop celebration) and “giving back” goals, like community service projects or supporting a cause they care about.  Although adults play a critical role in helping girls set realistic goals, girls should decide together on the goals for their troop.

Online Ordering System

Ways to Participate:

  • Our new program offers a great way to help people preserve and share their memories with personalized photo keepsakes using the photos they have stored on computers, mobile devices, Facebook and Instagram.
  • Friends and family can now order photo keepsakes such as photobooks, holiday cards, personalized posters and calendars and more. These items can be ordered online or by using paper order forms and will be delivered directly to the customer.
  • These items make PERFECT holiday gifts!
  • Troops earn proceeds of 10% every photo keepsake ordered – the same as they do for magazines sold.

Nuts & Candy

  • At the beginning of the Fall Product Sale, each girl will receive a nut and candy order card. Girls can use the order card to collect nut and candy order promises from friends and family. Payment is collected at the time of delivery.
  • Girls can also collect nut/candy orders online through the Online Fall Sale program.  New for 2014, customers can now shop online from an expanded selection of nuts and candy (including corporate gifts!), pay with a credit card, and have their purchases shipped right to their door!
  • The Troop to Troop program is back by popular demand for 2014! Through the Troop to Troop Program, customers can purchase a $5 nut/candy item to be donated to the men and women serving in the military. Girls who sell 3 or more Troop to Troop items will earn the 2014 Troop to Troop patch.

Magazine Orders

  • In each girl’s Fall Product Sale packet, she will receive a magazine catalog and order forms. Girls can use the catalog and order forms to collect magazine orders from friends and family. Payment is collected when the order is placed.
  • Families can also use the Online Fall Sale program to send emails to friends and families. The email contains a link so friends and family around the country can shop online and order subscriptions to support their Girl Scout.
  • Address booklets are also included in each girl’s packet. Girls simply complete the included post cards with the names and addresses of 9 friends and family members and turn it into their troops at the end of the sale. A direct mailing is sent later to those customers. Every girl who completes an address booklet earns a special patch.
