Volunteer and Troop Support Specialist

The Volunteer and Troop Support Specialist is the primary contact for the Member Experience Team.  She/he is responsible for successfully supporting new and existing volunteers to ensure the delivery of a nationally consistent quality leadership experience that achieves positive girl outcomes and reaches increasing numbers of girls.  She/he is responsible for the training, retention, and recognition of volunteers committed to the Girl Scout movement and Girl Scout Leadership Experience.  The Specialist is a superior communicator and solution-oriented, and works collaboratively and efficiently to provide an exceptional customer experience.

Qualified candidate will be committed to providing an exceptional customer service experience, has a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, and will demonstrate competencies in customer service, volunteer relationship management and/or human resource management, training and development, collaborative project management, and interpersonal skills.  Qualified candidate will possess superior written/verbal communication skills and be able to perform accurate data entry and utilize data management software (Salesforce); proficient computer operation skills and Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; and will be highly organized, self-directed, and a team player that will contribute to a positive organizational leadership culture.  Candidate bilingual in Spanish and knowledgeable of culture is desirable.

Placement Specialist

The Placement Specialist is the ‘inside sales’ for the Member Engagement Team and responsible for successfully converting prospective members (leads) to registered members.  She/he works collaboratively with Community Specialists (recruitment-outside sales) to secure increased girl and adult volunteer participation, as well as the community partnerships needed to implement Girl Scouting within an assigned area.  The Placement Specialist is a superior communicator and solution-oriented, and works efficiently and enthusiastically to provide an exceptional customer experience while onboarding new members.

Gulfcoast is implementing the  Customer Engagement Initiative (CEI) and these full time positions are currently open and require ability to work for extended periods of time at a keyboard/

Chief Executive Officer

Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida announces a search partnership with Evergreen Executive Source, LLC to identify candidates and advise on selection of a new Chief Executive Officer.  Evergreen is a retained search firm with depth of experience in nonprofit executive sourcing and selection, and has conducted searches nationwide for over a decade serving the interests of Girl Scout Councils across the entire country.  All information provided to Evergreen will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.

In early January, Gulfcoast CEO Susan Stewart announced she is stepping down from this position effective March 31 and plans to lend her experience to onboard the new Chief Executive Officer upon approval by the Board of Directors.  Stewart, a dedicated champion of our community, has led our $3.5 million dollar girl leadership development organization for the past seven years and will be pursuing new projects and opportunities in the not for profit and health care sectors.  This is a great opportunity to transition to a highly sought after CEO role and receive initial transitional guidance from an accomplished and innovative outgoing CEO.
