The Girl Experience Program Specialist is responsible for developing, planning, delivering, and managing council-sponsored programs, events, and camps that utilize the National Program Portfolio for different grade levels throughout the year in the southern region of the Gulfcoast council and will support the council’s strategic priorities and goals. The position is outbased and located in the southern region of the council. The Girl Experience Program Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the activities meet revenue goals, established outcomes, and policy and safety standards. She/he will recruit and manage collaborators and volunteers for programs, events and camps. She/he will direct and supervise camp staff (older girls as well as volunteers) and interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualified candidate has a minimum of three years of relevant experience and will demonstrate preferred competencies in event and program planning, youth recreational programming (and summer camp), working with girls and adults, youth education, training, volunteer management, public speaking and presentations, exceptional customer service, collaborative project management, and interpersonal skills. Current knowledge and proficiency of outdoor skills or ability to quickly acquire is required. CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications must be current or acquired quickly. Qualified candidate will possess superior written/verbal communication skills and will be able to perform accurate data entry and utilize data management software (Salesforce); proficient computer operation skills and use of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Qualified candidate will be a highly self-directed and organized team player that will contribute to a positive organizational leadership culture. Candidate bilingual in Spanish and knowledgeable of culture is desirable. Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
This full time position is currently open and requires ability to work as an outbased staff member with a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends. The position requires an ability to travel during day and night hours and perform position-related responsibilities in a wide variety of venues and environments. Daily access to transportation is required with a valid driver’s license, documentation of automobile insurance, and the ability to transport supplies to activities.
