What is GirlScoutVoices.org?
  • www.GirlScoutVoices.org is the website created by GSUSA and the Girl Scout Research Institute for girls and their parents and adult volunteers to “register” to take surveys.
  • Girls 12 and under must have their parent fill out the form and help them take surveys.
  • Girls 13 and over can go online and fill out the form themselves.
  • The form is simple – name, contact information, how long the girl has been in Girl Scouts, etc.
What happens next?
  • Once a girl and her parent register on GirlScoutVoices.org, their information is funneled to the GSNI data collection site, called Qualtrics.
  • We can then send a variety of online surveys to a certain group of girls.
    •  Example: We want to send a survey to all girls who participated in a Brownie Troop.
    •  Example: We want to send a survey to all Girl Scouts living in a specific county.
Then what?
  • Girls and/or their parents will receive an e-mail asking them to click on a link and take an online survey.  Spring Troop Surveys will be available in March for most troops.*
  • All survey answers remain anonymous; we do not tie specific responses back to individual girls.
  • When the girl or adult completes the survey, the data is automatically available to us and Qualtrics contains features to help us analyze it.
Why do we need to survey our Girl Scouts?
  • To help us understand what girls are getting out of Girl Scouts.
  • To help us show funders why supporting GSGCF financially is a good investment.
  • To help us improve our programs for girls and adapt to meet their needs.
  • To help us recruit more girls and volunteers by showing the community the impact of Girl Scouts.
  • TO HELP CHANGE GIRLS’ LIVES.
How can we get our Girl Scouts excited about participating in surveys?
  • All girls who complete their registration survey, and the Spring Troop Survey (available in March), will receive our new “My Voice Counts!” patch.
  • Participating girls will also be entered into a drawing for prizes at the end of the membership year.
  • All troops with 100% survey participation can also win prizes, like a free weekend at camp.
What if my troop girls don’t have access to a computer to complete the registration and surveys?
  • Paper registration and survey options are available.  For more information, or to request the paper option, contact Lori Tomlinson, Manager of Grants and Outcomes, at 941-921-5358 ext. 310, or outcomes@gsgcf.org, BEFORE January 4, 2013.

*due to United Way reporting requirements, girls in Charlotte County troops will need to complete their surveys by mid-February.  These surveys will be made available in January.
