Board of Directors Girl Representative
Girl Scout Seniors or Ambassadors, 14 years of age or older by
October 1, 2018, are eligible for a leadership opportunity while
serving as a girl representative on the Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast
Florida, Inc. Board of Directors.
Girl representatives provide a voice on behalf of all the Gulfcoast girl members! In accordance with council bylaws, girl representatives are appointed by the board of directors and shall serve without the right to vote or make motions but their full participation is greatly respected and valued. Girl representatives will serve a one-year term from November 14, 2018 until September 2019.
Girl representatives are highly engaged and attend as many board and governance meetings as possible. A girl representative serving on the Board of Directors is a voting member at the annual meeting. Girl representatives are invited to take an active leadership role in other council-related events during the year to best advocate for Girl Scouts and serve as role models for all.
The board of directors has approved the following meeting dates: November 14, 2018 board meeting, January 16, 2019 board meeting, January 26, 2019 (9am-1pm) annual meeting, and board meeting dates to be scheduled in February or March, May, July, and September. The meetings are generally scheduled from 4-6pm at the regional campus in Sarasota, except the annual meeting as noted.
