Adult Lifeguard Training Part 1
This two-day course provides certification by the American Red Cross to serve as a lifeguard.
This is an American Red Cross Lifeguard Course, presented over two days. Day one is devoted to water rescue skills work. Day two includes water skills work and medical skills training.
The course includes Adult, Child, and Infant medical skills training in CPR, along with First Aid and AED training.
Each participant will complete the “pre-course” session on day one, which consists of:
- Swimming 300 yards (no time limit, just continuous swimming) using the freestyle, breaststroke, or a combination of both.
- Treading water for two minutes.
- Diving to a depth of nine feet (minimum), recovering a ten-pound dive brick, and resurfacing to the pool edge.
You must be able to swim continuously for 300 yards. This is an indicator of the ability to perform all the water rescue skills work.
You must attend both days to complete your certification. Day two is on October 18, 2020, from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
