The Girl Scout Promise Fund program is designed to ensure girls in our 10-county footprint are aware of and have access to the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) without financial constraints.
The Girl Scout Promise Fund is able to assist families in need with the following:
- The $65.00 Girl Scouts of the USA annual membership fee for all girls and for adults holding a troop leader/troop co-leader role.
o Select Financial Assistance in the “payment” screen of the registration process to trigger the request.
- Membership Essential components: Tunic for Daisies and Sash for all other Girl Scout levels, troop numeral, flag patch, council identification set, insignia tab, and Girl Scout pins.
o Promise Fund Application for Girl Scout Essentials online form needs to be submitted.
As part of GSLE, girls participate in the two product programs: Mags & Munchies Sale in the Fall and the Girl Scout Cookie Program in the Spring. By participating in these financial literacy programs girls develop important life skills of goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics that will set girls up for success beyond anything they can imagine. Benefits of participation in the product programs:
- Builds the troop’s treasury, which opens opportunity for the troop to engage in the activities of interest to the all girls while reducing financial burden to families.
- Individual girls are able to earn Cookie Credits that can be applied towards experiences like travel or council events, as well as their Girl Scout membership renewal. A Cookie Credits Redemption Form would need to be submitted for redemptions as girls earn them.
