Guide Dogs: Experience Darkness in a Whole New Light~Cancelled
Original Date Cancelled, New Dates Coming Fall 2020!
The Beyond the Dark program was created by Southeastern Guide Dogs to teach the public about the vital work of their extraordinary dogs. The guide dogs, service dogs, and skilled companion dogs provide freedom, confidence, and hope for people who cannot see, for veterans who have seen too much, and for children facing significant challenges.
Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors will be immersed in this multisensory experience to explore real-life challenges of those with vision loss and veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder and other disabilities. Meet the graduates of the Southeastern Guide Dogs programs and hear their triumphant stories. You’ll also witness the highly trained guide dogs and service dogs at work and see the powerful difference these dogs make in the lives of those they assist. The program is ONLY for girls in grades 6-12.
