As the nation’s premier leadership development organization for girls, it is our mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. What better way for us to help girls grow strong than to teach them the importance of using their voice by participating in the upcoming election cycle?

We have invited the following speakers to guide us on the following topics (speakers subject to change):

  • Charlotte County Commissioner Bill Truex will who us how to advocate on a grass roots level.
  • Florida Representative Margaret Good will share her first-hand experiences of what it's like to be a female elected official in today's culture.
  • Charlotte County Supervisor of Elections Paul Stamoulis will provide details on how girls can get involved in elections.
  • Historian and teacher Jessica Hoover from Sarasota County School District will discuss the history of the women's suffrage movement.
  • Representatives from the League of Women Voters will report on women and voting today to help activate us to use our voices.
