In this exploration, girls will discover the life cycle and metamorphosis of a butterfly. Using a kaleidoscope lens to simulate butterflies' vision, girls will investigate caterpillar and butterfly host plants. Girls will also use hand lenses to look for butterfly eggs and magnify caterpillars. Learning that caterpillars eat and butterflies drink from specific plants will demonstrate the balance required when designing a butterfly garden that supports all stages of the butterfly life cycle. The Daisy Animal Observer and Brownie Bugs Badges will be included in this program.
This is a drop off event. Girl Scout adult members with an approved background check may attend.
