Girls will learn about the role costume designers play in the performing arts while exploring the fundamentals of costume design, including fit, function, fabrics, and the principles of fashion. Girls will explore eco fashion by learning how to use sustainable and recycled materials to create clothing and other goods. Then, girls will apply their knowledge to create their own costume pieces out of everyday items and recyclable materials.
Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of how fashion impacts the environment, and feel empowered to make sustainable choices in their own wardrobes. This program encourages young changemakers to embrace sustainability while having a blast with fashion!
