Girls will take on the role of emergency preparedness champions as they learn how to stay safe before, during, and after a hurricane. Through hands-on activities, they will board up windows, assemble first aid kits, create an emergency food pantry, and practice making a family emergency plan.
Participants will also gain a deeper understanding of hurricane risks, how to interpret forecasts and alerts, and the importance of early preparation. A hurricane simulation will give them a firsthand look at the power of these storms and the critical steps needed to stay protected.
By the end of the program, each girl will be equipped with essential knowledge and skills to help their families and communities prepare for hurricane season. Be a hero-learn, prepare, and stay safe!
