Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida is thrilled to share an enriching opportunity to engage in a hands-on experience focused on animal care. This event is designed not only to enhance your understanding of horse anatomy but also to instill a sense of responsibility and compassion toward all animals.

During this special day, girls will learn about horse anatomy while grooming our beautiful horses. They will have the opportunity to clean a horse stall, which emphasizes the importance of properly caring for these magnificent creatures. Additionally, the girls will experience the thrill of riding  horses. Whether they choose to be led by a handler or ride independently, they can do so at their own comfort level, fostering confidence and skill development.

Alongside the horse activities, girls will have the chance to interact with our friendly Nigerian Dwarf goats and chickens, learning how to handle and feed them. This diverse experience is designed to create lasting memories while educating them about animal care.

Please note that closed-toed shoes are required (preferably ones that can get dirty) and you are encouraged to wear a hat, sunglasses, and comfortable clothing like biker shorts, capris, leggings, jeans, or pants to prevent chafing from the saddle. Bring a reusable water bottle to use throughout the day.

A fun horseback riding patch will be included.

A minimum of 12 participants is required to attend this program.

This will be a drop-off event. We are looking for 6 volunteers to help-if you're interested in volunteering, please contact Denise at denisev@gsgcf.org.
