Homeschool Hangout: Bug Out invites students to jump into the fascinating world of insects through handson exploration and guided science learning. The day begins outdoors as participants search for and gently catch local bugs, practicing observation skills and learning how to handle small creatures safely and respectfully. After the bug hunt, students will take part in an engaging insect class where they'll explore anatomy, behavior, and the important roles insects play in the environment. To deepen their understanding, the group will then dissect a lubber grasshopper, examine its internal structures and see firsthand how an insect's body functions. This immersive experience blends outdoor adventure with real science, giving learners a memorable and meaningful look into the tiny world beneath their feet.
