Girls entering grades 6th- 8th Aug 2026.

Through this immersive experience, Cadettes will work alongside trained Counselor-in-Training (CIT) mentors to learn what it truly means to be a youth leader. Participants will observe strong role models, assist with camp activities, plan age-appropriate programming, and practice leading activities for younger campers. Cadettes will also complete a group service project focused on leaving camp better than they found it, reinforcing responsibility, teamwork, and community impact.

Beyond leadership development, this program is packed with outdoor adventure. Cadettes will tackle the low ropes course, gather around the campfire, cook in the great outdoors, kayak or canoe and refine their archery skills, creating lasting memories while building practical skills.

By the end of the program, Cadettes will be prepared to confidently assist Daisy and Brownie troops with programming and will complete required steps toward their Program Aide Award during this experience.

To officially receive their Program Aide pin, Cadettes must complete one of two post-training options. Both pathways provide meaningful, hands-on leadership experience and allow Cadettes to apply the skills gained during their training week.

Council Pathway - Participate in and help lead activities at three council-sponsored programs during the year.

Troop Pathway - Plan and lead a full meeting for younger Girl Scouts within a troop setting.

This empowering experience blends mentorship, service, outdoor adventure, and leadership development - equipping Cadettes to take the next step in their Girl Scout journey with confidence and purpose.

Girl Scout Adult Members are needed to help facilitate this program. If you would like to volunteer, email szeifertb@gsgcf.org.
