Girls entering grades 9th-12th Aug 2026.
This hands-on program blends skill development, outdoor adventure, and leadership training in a dynamic camp setting. During the first half of the week, participants focus on foundational leadership skills such as positive behavior modeling, teamwork, communication, problem-solving, accountability, and activity planning. CITs learn camp traditions and safety procedures while gaining confidence in leading games, facilitating activities, and supporting younger campers.
Throughout the week, girls will sharpen their expertise in archery, kayaking, low ropes, and outdoor cooking; preparing them to confidently teach these skills to Cadettes. They will also take part in leadership development sessions to help plan key components of the Cadette Leadership Experience and the 2026 Family Campfire Circle programs. Between training sessions, CITs will enjoy downtime to relax, build friendships, and experience all the fun camp has to offer.
In the second half of the program, CITs put their training into action by mentoring younger Girl Scout Cadettes as they work toward earning their Program Aide Award. Under staff supervision, CITs assist with activities, guide service projects, support campers, and gain meaningful, hands-on leadership experience.
Participation in the CIT Leadership Program includes a commitment to attend and contribute to at least three additional programs later in the year, including the Family Campfire Circles. By joining, participants agree to apply the skills and leadership training they gain to support these upcoming events.
By the end of the program, CITs will have completed national Girl Scout CIT requirements, earned their Counselor-in-Training Award, strengthened their leadership confidence, and built a strong foundation for future counselor roles-all while creating unforgettable camp memories.
