Dive into the world of metalsmithing as you learn how to cold fuse metal to create a unique pendant or mini book. In this workshop, you'll explore the techniques used by professional metalsmiths and craft a one-of-a-kind piece. Plus, this project can count toward earning the "Bookmaking" Cadette badge, as you'll create a miniature book using copper, mica, paper, and transfers.
Inspired by the renowned artist Gerhard Richter, you'll use squeegees and paint to create your own masterpiece. We'll also explore mixed media techniques, introducing a variety of materials and tools to make your artwork truly personal and unique.
Get creative with needle felting, a craft that began in the 1980's and has ancient roots in traditional felt-making techniques. Learn how to shape wool into intricate designs and figures, creating texture art pieces that showcase your newfound skills.
Whether you're a budding jewelry maker, painter, or felting enthusiast, "Art in the Park" offers an exciting opportunity to try new crafts, express yourself, and earn fun, hands-on skills!
Only 10 Adult volunteers are needed. Volunteers must be registered Girl Scout Adult Members with an approved background check. Volunteers may register on a first come, first served basis.
We must meet a minimum of 25 girls to offer this event.
